I know this wasn't what they were doing by any design, and HimbleBundle deserves ALL the ire they're getting for this landing as tone deaf as it did.

I dont need EVERY Batman story to be grim dark.
I dont need Superman to grim when I have OmniMan from Invincible and Homelander from the boys, and Utopian from Jupiter's Legacy. Those Superman clones can be grim.

Maybe some of the classic characters can just stay brighter or sillier or goofier.

I really enjoy taking certain characters out and trying more serious and grounded stories with them. Batman is interesting in that his origin is kind of ghastly.
But we also have TONS of other characters, and SATIRES of characters to push the more adult stuff into.
