Trump at this point doesn't care and refuses to disavow the possibility of a recession.
Moreno isn't up for reelection for six years. By that time any downturn will certainly have passed. He should get on the same page as Trump and synchronize messaging.

I believe Kemi Badenoch gave a speech recently where she stressed that in a nation of immigrants it is critical that new citizens abandon any of the old hatreds they may have held prior to relocation. It is completely understandable why no one in the UK, or the US, would countenance importing

How about a list of major car wash chain executives who didn't start out in the car wash industry?
Look, if you want to play games trying to apply more and more restrictive filters that's not really indicative of anything.

Is career choice dispositive in either direction? If you believe so then I think that says more about you and your background than the actual universe.

I think there are jobs, such as taxi driver, where the required skill set is clearly definable. Being able to operate a motor vehicle, for example.
But for most other jobs the factors that lead some to be high achievers are far more mysterious.

I suspect that scandals fall hardest on incumbents. To be clear I suspect Badenoch will emerge victorious eventually but why any politician or party wins is always a mix of things rather than any one thing.

Starmer has something like a 30% approval rating right now so disentangling how much advantage Badenoch can wring out of this is going to be very difficult to separate from the incumbent's general unpopularity.
Still, I expect that she is the favorite.

The argument that the only people qualified to fill a position are those with specific and exacting qualifications is specious. In fact studies have shown that the highest performing "super predictors" tend to be generalists with a wide base of knowledge. If that's your argument I'm not impressed.
