The failure of Dems is to NOT imagine the worst case. For them, it stops with letters, filings, and lawsuits.

Already under Biden, Dem governors should have assured themselves of the loyalty of their National Guard leaders. Now, with the President controlling the National Guards, the only fall back for the worst case is the "well-regulated militia" of citizens under the constitution.

Such a strategy involves lifting restrictions to open carry in Dem jurisdictions, adjudicating the constitution only in the state, not putting certain Repubs on ballots, holding back federal taxes etc., i.e. assert state power in a calculated, stepwise escalation from a lawless federal government.

The Dem's failure is to never have articulated clearly a strategy of escalation to the lawlessness laid out in project 2025, in those jurisdictions where they have power.

Good idea. But people need to start thinking beyond that as well.
