Amnesty International researcher, Budour Hassan, explains the use of secret sites by the Israeli authorities.
Ugh, 30ยฐ+ days seems to regular now. These kind of temperatures used to be few and far between, now *really hot* summers are seeming standard. Can't bear it. The planet is heating at cheetah speed and leaders are moving at tortoise pace to do anything.
Had enough of being hot, thanks ๐ฎโ๐จ
Reform UK's Darren Grimes tells constituents he can't hold surgeries with them because he's been advised by the police not to do so for "security reasons".
The only problem? Police spokesperson says this is entirely untrue and they gave no such advice

He proposes releasing some ICE prisoners to labor on farms where the employers will โown themโ and be responsible for them.
Historians have spent decades meticulously proving the straight line between slavery and modern capitalismโs concept of the laborerโor we could just let them say it.

Labour is handing this country on a silver platter to Reform. People do not vote Labour because they hate immigrants and want Reform-lite. They vote Labour because they want it to make a positive difference to their lives.

Couldn't agree more, but it's not just the BBC. Most of the weekend papers seem to be enthralled by the idea of Farage as next PM. Part of how we got to where we are now.

๐โThis is Nigel Farage, public school-educated ex-metals trader cosplaying as a champion of the working class. Thereโs a massive contradiction between what he says and what he actually does in practice.โ
Letโs be clear. Trump's arrest of Judge Dugan in Milwaukee has nothing to do with immigration.
This latest attack is about one thing: unchecked power.
It is time for my colleagues in the Republican Party to stand up to his growing authoritarianism.
"Like the governmentโs new anti-protest law, exacerbating the Conservativesโ draconian measures, this bill betrays an undemocratic impatience with the people, motivated by the blatant appeasement of corporate power."

This is what listening to Nigel Farage and the grifters at Reform UK gets you/us.
Considering voting for them at the local elections? Maybe consider giving your head a knock against the wall instead.
The reason why protest is essential to political change is that only when people *see* the scale of discontent do they realise they are not alone, and that the tide can turn.

Hopefully we're now over the idea that Trump and Putin are seven-dimensional chess geniuses. They're chancers and opportunists. Putin royally miscalculated his invasion of Ukraine in 2022, losing almost a million soldiers KIA/WIA, and now Trump is causing trade carnage everywhere

Donald Trump Raises Tariffs On China To 104%, Effective Today: White House President Trump had given China 24 hours to roll back or "withdraw" the retaliatory 34 per cent tariff it imposed on US goods, failing which Chinese goods would be punished with 104 per cent tariffs.
This is textbook economic illiteracy. It may play well short term with his cultists, but long term, and not that long, putting what amounts to a 104% increase on the cost of goods from China will cripple the US market, and people's bank accounts.
