Burnout 3 is underrated as one of the very, very best games of all time because you can show Burnout 3 footage to people two decades later and their reaction will still be "hell yeah, this rules. I wanna play this right now."

Going back to the original Resident Evil 4 after a couple of years is just such a joy.

All I'm saying is, if the worst we've got nowadays is "Silent Hill f is a bit like Dark Souls" or "Silent Hill games are taking place in other countries" then maybe we should all just get some perspective and calm down a bit.

Remember when a PS Vita spinoff retconned the events of literally the entire series to revolve solely around its magic book, a page of which was dedicated to the writer attacking some YouTubers he didn't like?

Remember when Silent Hill 2, the best horror game of all-time, was released as a "HD" version in which a character literally had her eye textures replaced with teeth?

I remember.

Remember when Origins had to be rewritten in like half an hour, came out to be literally impossible within the established canon and was so unbelievably bad that the writer didn't even list it on his own personal website?

I remember.

Some of you complaining about Silent Hill today very obviously weren't there for The Dark Days.

Low budget, passion-free games with nothing to say except "We Want To Be Silent Hill 2." A HD Collection made from beta code that ran in slow motion with ruined voice acting. Book of Fucking Memories.

HOT TAKE, APPARENTLY: I enjoy the newest Silent Hill games and will continue to do so as long as they maintain their current high level of quality, effort and passion.

Don't you just hate it when you're trying to enjoy a game about a pharmaceutical megacorporation gaining financial influence over a city before killing off its entire population in pursuit of profit and then they go and make it all POLITICAL right at the end?
