The world has gotten much worse since then. George Floyd was murdered by police in 2020, then Renée Good and Alex Pretti were assassinated in the street this month, both just blocks away.

And we are still fighting.

I was lucky to witness this, one of the most important things I have shot. People from different ages, races, classes, genders were walking together for a common good. As my US friends were asking questions and showing concern for Hong Kong then, they were fighting their own battles.

14 years ago today in 2012, Ramarley Graham was 18. He was shot to death by a police officer in his grandmother’s bathroom while flushing marijuana down the toilet, something I desperately wish my father could have right now while he’s in the hospital.
