I kind of had to.

Herzog does a wonderful job letting the story unfold with Treadwell’s archival footage, witness accounts, and his singular V.O. narration warning viewers about nature’s power over mankind.

A tragic, but not unexpected tale of a man’s obsessive pursuit to become a self stylized advocate and protector of a small grizzly population in Katmai National Park in Alaska. His dangerous methods would eventually claim the lives of both him and his girlfriend Amie.

There’s a lot going in the frame, almost to the point of distraction. What I think would have benefited this more is an ND filter to help reduce the reflection from the window, otherwise I quite pleased with it.

I’ve long considered becoming an organ donor, and I don’t think that’s going to change even with these small percentages of cases that potentially help save a life.

This winter is like an ex that won’t let you move on with your life. Toxic and clingy ass season.

These may sound “basic”, but Katsuhiro Otomo’s ‘Akira’, Satoshi Kon’s ‘Perfect Blue’, and a Miyazaki retrospective box set. I’d consider all of these foundational.

Since we’re on the subject of Netflix, I’d be really appreciative if Criterion reached out to them about Rian Johnson’s Knives Out series.

It’s been a LONG while since I’ve watched the film series, so I guess this news demands a revisit.
