Decorating's pretty much done for Christmas. Nothing elaborate. A little of this. A little of that. Really happy I spruced up my kitchen table this year. It's strictly for decoration since I don't actually "eat" there, but I think it looks nice! Also love my snowflake projection above the tree!

Well, I decided to decorate the tree this morning, and I've added the few Hallmark ornaments I've acquired since last year. Really looking forward to adding many more in the years to come! Definitely speaks to my personality and my love for pop culture and nostalgia!

Going to see 'Back to the Future' at the theater tonight with Chris. Never saw it on the big screen as a kid. In 1985, we had a theater with 2 screens which played this, and "Teen Wolf". My dad gave me the choice and I chose the latter. At 8 years old, I guess werewolves trumped time travel!

Busy day today! At 1pm, Andre and I are performing at a Halloween party for the senior community. From there, I'm off to Walmart to pick up a few goodies. Then, off to @sinclairiverse.bsky.social's for an all-night horror movie marathon! I hope you all have a wonderful & SAFE Halloween tonight!

Regardless of popular opinion, I think "Halloween III" is simply epic. Critics and moviegoers chastised it simply because it went in a different direction and had absolutely nothing to do with Michael Myers. Barring that, if you look at it as a stand-alone entity, it's one awesome horror film!

I just wanted to send a huge THANK YOU" to @snowballwolf.bsky.social who surprised me this morning with the gift of a He-Man Pop figure while we were at Vaughan Mills Mall. I absolutely love it. He has since taken his rightful place on a shelf with some other icons of 80's pop culture! 😊

While on the subject of Christmas trees, I picked up these two ornaments over the past month. Last year I got a Gizmo one (from "Gremlins") donning a Santa hat and holding a candy cane. I thought I'd keep the nostalgic vibe going with these pick-ups. I definitely plan on getting more!

Decided to buy a new 4ft Christmas tree to replace the one I've had for the last 4-5 years as the top is very flimsy and unable to adequately hold a topper. I have some buyer's remorse though as I'd just read many reviews, and most are less than favorable. I'll know in a month when I put it up. 🎄

Well, as of this morning I've officially got my Christmas shopping well underway...... and I feel damn good about it too! Fortunately, I can count the number of people I have to buy for on one hand, so that makes it easier. I'm definitely off to a running start, and I still have 3 months to go! 😊

A memory was unlocked last night when I came across a photo of "Cookie Puss" on Facebook. This was an ice cream cake from Carvel. It prompted me to look up the TV ads which aired on US affiliate stations throughout the 80's. As I'm in Canada, I never got to try it, but I'll never forget the ads!

Going to see "Spinal Tap II" on Sunday! As a fan of the first, I'm really excited for this, but promised myself I'd go into it with low expectations. I don't expect it to be AS good, but the idea of aging rockers re-igniting their careers in today's advanced world could potentially be hilarious!

This is just a Chuck's Roadhouse appreciation post. I absolutely LOVE this place! I've gone 4 times (so far) this year and have never been disappointed! Their wings are to die for and they make a pretty mean rack of ribs! Oh, and their chicken tenders with ranch dip is indeed something special!

Spent the day yesterday with my amazing mom at Canada's Wonderland. We only stayed about 4 hours as she wasn't feeling the greatest. But, it was an adventure just the same! Every moment I get to spend in the company of this wonderful lady is a moment I'll always cherish. I love her so very much!

I was left dumbfounded today. Decided to hit up KFC for dinner while at the mall only to be told, "Sorry, we're out of chicken". Out of chicken...? It's literally what the "C" stands for in their damn name! Only this time it meant "Come another day"! I thought I'd heard it all until today! lol

I finally rode AlpenFury at Canada's Wonderland today after over a year of it being announced. I wanted to LOVE it. I really did. But I think it was a little too intense for my 48 year old body to handle. Rough to the point where I wrenched my back. Think I'm getting too old for this shit!

At the mall, having a little fun with my nephew's Labubu. Turns out, he loves Pepsi just as much as I! lol

What's better than an Echo Dot? Well........ 2! I love the one I bought earlier this month so much, I decided to purchase a second for my bedroom which will replace my bluetooth alarm clock. It arrives first thing tomorrow!

Attended my very first Fan Expo yesterday when @sinclairiverse.bsky.social. Quite the experience! Took in 4 panels, including one featuring Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox! Place was packed and a lot of walking involved. But definitely worth it!

Admission time! When I was a kid, I didn't know what a cicada was. I always thought the sound they made was the noise of powerlines buzzing in the heat. Yeah..... I wasn't too bright! 🤣

Tried the new Shania Twain all dressed 'shaker fries" from Mickey D's tonight. Pretty damn good! I wouldn't complain if they made this a permanent menu item! I was afraid the flavor might have been a bit overpowering, but nope! Loved'em!

Andy's DVD / Blu-ray Collection *3,240 TITLES* (Updated 08/13/2025)

I present to you, a list consisting of my COMPLETE DVD / Blu-ray collection! I've been collecting films on home media since the early 90's, starting with VHS. I think it was around the year 2000 when I made the transition to DVD, and began collecting Blu-ray by around 2010.

New Taco Bell addiction, the Loaded Fries Pocket. Pretty hefty for an item on their cravings value menu. I always get it without the chipotle sauce though, otherwise it wreaks havoc on my heartburn!

My guitarist and I have been hitting up a lot of venues over the last 6 months which host "open mic" nights. A new place we checked out last night was Sonic Hall here in Guelph. Their sound setup is the best I've heard anywhere. Definitely professional! Looking forward to performing there again!

Watched "Ballerina" yesterday which is a spin-off of the 'John Wick' franchise. Easily one of the best action films I've seen in recent memory. The kills were insane! Hoping to see a continuation of this character in the foreseeable future!

Ordered a refurbished Echo Dot from Amazon tonight for a mere $34. Description says it only has very minor cosmetic imperfections. So, I figured it was a gamble worth taking. Been wanting a smart speaker since my limited use with a Google Home Mini earlier this year. It arrives tomorrow!

After some thought, and arm-twisting from my nephew, I've decided to audition again for next year's Furnal Equinox Masquerade. Only this time, I'll be donning my newly acquired fursuit. I've decided on the song "Road To Nowhere" by Ozzy. Part tribute, and partly because the song is simply epic!!

Went to see the "Naked Gun" reboot this afternoon with @snowballwolf.bsky.social and @sinclairiverse.bsky.social. As much as I wanted to love it, the film (in my opinion) fell flat for the most part. Although I laughed a few times, they were few and far between. But hey, comedy is subjective!

Well, I've made the conscious decision to NOT renew my Canada's Wonderland season pass for 2026. A lot of reasons behind it. Mostly burnout. Between this summer and last, I've cumulatively gone 26 times. Also with the cost of passes at an all time low, attendance has skyrocketed. Too chaotic!

This went up for pre-order today, but sold out immediately. I'd love to have it as a collector's item. I used to own all of the old LJN wrestlers when I was a kid, including the original Hulk. Mind you, I couldn't get this even if I wanted as it's a Target exclusive and they don't ship to Canada.

Still can't get over the fact that Hulk Hogan passed away last week. Many choose to squash his legacy based on his actions in recent years, but I choose to remember him as that wide-eyed 8 year old boy who would watch him on TV every weekend. To me, he was larger than life! HULKAMANIA FOREVER!
