as per usual I blame people selling umineko as an independent story not part of a larger tale

not even stuff like higurashi rereleases and content directly relating to hinamizawa. just the mere existence of an archetype manifestations inexplicably setting people off even though that’s how wtc has always worked in crafting its narrative

god I wish laymen would shut the fuck up complaining about ryukishi ‘milking higurashi’ when what’s actually happening is that there’s just a new addition to wtc as an overarching series

it’s just him getting mad about how the government works again with lower stakes this time. while kei-chan reminds the reader every two pages that he’s a natural uke

unstable and violent woman from shuten looks unbearably attractive (pretty sure she’s the subject of the latest preview) so it only figures that her segment of the game seems like it’s going to suck real bad lmao

always sad when there's a ship that absolutely tickles your narrative + aesthetic sensibilities (from what you can gleam) but it requires playing like 250 hours of gachaslop before you can even get to it

it's a fundamentally flawed design that trusts the player way more than it should (and I think they integrated what would normally be FTE content into V3's script proper). but it bums me out how many people refuse to engage with it or even acknowledge the intent

entire social mechanic. then they complain about how the characters are shallow. you weren't bothering to engage with them! of course you think they're shallow! the point is that's kind of how interpersonal relationships develop in real life—you have to actually invest in others

I like that a bunch of people play the game series where a big thesis is 'don't judge someone by who they are on the surface; everyone is fighting their own battles and you won't understand what they've been through unless you take the time to get to know them' just to ignore the ..

the only way I can see anyone coming away with this take is if you exclusively played the NISA version of DR1 specifically and then never touched anything else in the series
