Currently reading this one and it's so good!

From my experience, it seems pretty random. I only got one game jam game on the front page of itch.io for a few days and had way more traffic than my other games. But yeah, games outside game jams can be quite harder to have visibility.

There's something I don't like when I see comments of devs saying how other indie games are "competition". Just make the games you want to make and be yourself doing it. Be creative, stand out in your own way and make something only you can make.

Yeah, even after months of work on it, I have that feeling of starting all over again haha, thinking I could do certain things a lot better now. But I'm still pretty much satisfied of it when I look back on it.

Sometimes, I feel that for every hour working on a game (or any orther art project), there's half of that time where you have the impression that what you're working on is terrible and you have no idea what you're doing. Until you start working on it again and stop caring about all that #gamedev

Completely agree! I like to make games I'd want to play, even if they're niche or experimental. I'm making a game that is mostly old school text adventure and point & click, but I'm really proud of what I've done so far. Being passionate about what I do is more important than anything else.
