23.02.2026 19:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No that misses the main point entirely: New housing that is inclusive by design housing breaks down exclusion. Ensures fair share of access to places that are building, growing & thriving to those who can benefit most. And exposure to mixed income peers critical for kids, especially poor children.

Raising wages isnβt just about inflationβitβs about rent. Shelterforce's Frances Nguyen takes a closer look at how Santa Fe connected minimum wage increases to housing costs, and what it could mean for other cities.

Iβm sure that isnt true IRL, but it sometimes seems that way on here. And same can be said for many supply skeptics on the left. Both disparage each other w/ unduly simplistic talking points instead of finding room for alliances. Its tiresome.

so many people actually hate others trapped in poverty. with groceries, fuel, utilities, and rent increases what was a very meager existence six years ago isn't possible today. there's no fat to trim. there's no supports to cover the widening gaps.

21.02.2026 23:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Despite court rulings that limit the ability of local & state governments to fight federal actions, there are avenues cities can take to contest ICE that might work, including by controlling zoning & building permits. Exciting to see so many cities pushing back.

Instead of enforcing the Fair Housing Act during the nation's fair and affordable housing crisis, the Trump Administration is attacking a key fair housing rule that ensures people are not segregated from opportunity.

Yes βlimits on housing in Baltimore Coβ push new housing development to farmland in Harford Co & the E. Shore. But we dont need leapfrog development & a multi-billion $$ new bridge to meet housing needs. Instead we can make rational changes to the Countyβs URDL & suburban exclusionary zoning.
