We have now entered 24 hours of Scottish smugness vis a vis the rest of the UK. Hope your day off in August was worth it.

Our economy isn't working for people or planet.

We need a #WellbeingEconomy that delivers social justice on a healthy planet.

Lots of thoughts about this one but main one: maybe if we started to own it maybe if we stopped hiding & sacrificing- people would know how to help and would adapt to accommodate us. Lots of folk are generally decent but what they don't know, they can't fix...

Ooh so far so good with this. As a songleader humming was already a go to for grounding & settling but never occurred to me to use for this. Seems to help.

On the other side of table though- don't mistake spelling mistakes for lack of communication skills.

This whole joining a new SM platform thing mainly 1 starter pack at a time has interesting effects. One day my feed is dominated by farming interests, the next new economics. Balance will be challenging to achieve but enjoying the process.

Forget a starter pack of politicians and journalists. I want a starter pack of niche British cultural events that go comedically wrong. I want condiment bottles that look like celebrities. I want a WAG detective, a boat naming, and a dress that’s either blue or gold.

More than one in three children in poverty as UK deprivation hits record high Exclusive: Study finds almost quarter of UK population living in poverty, reaching the highest level this century

UK deprivation levels have risen to the highest in the 21st century, according to a landmark report. More than one in three children are now in poverty and a quarter of adults.

It is a scandal - but so is the pretence that any of this is normal. www.theguardian.com/society/2024...
