Yesterday put a fire in my belly to create more art + games as well. 🔥

That bitsummit + pixel art park double whammy got me feeling inspired AF. After a good night's sleep I'm locking in on some creativity. 🔥🔥🔥

Oh I'm so guilty of the hours of 1-2 pixel tinkering too. I am glad that newer pixel artists now at least have better learning resources that aren't a few cliques of nerds trying to force "good pixel art" dogma down beginners throats.

Even though it was discouraging a few times, I do think both the helpful and unhelpful feedback I received helped me to look at my work more objectively.

I saw many people get discouraged from harsh crits and some people thriving on it. Certainly back then a lot of us didn't have the emotional maturity to give out feedback in a manner that highlighted the positive aspects of pieces.

Pixel art park was a hoot. Was fun to hang with the pixel pals and see so many fellow pixel artists work here in Japan.

Kinkos Japan are a life saver if you need a panic print before an event. haha

Sadly bsky hasn't really caught on in Japan so a lot of people I meet are still using it.

I got to briefly meet hip tanaka at Bitsummit! I played so much Dr. Mario and Super Mario Land growing up so it's cool to meet the composer for them!

Everytime I come to Kyoto metro stations I end up humming the tin tower theme from pokemon gold/silver.

The Van Gogh piece I did a while back looks so good on the CRT! I'm totally displaying my work on this CRT at the next art event I do. My crappy phone camera can't do it justice.

I've actually not tried any real hardware on it yet. Even with the cheapo hdmi->rca adapter I've got though, the picture looks great.
