22.01.2025 22:16 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It has never been more important to USE YOUR VOICE.
YOUR ACTUAL, PHYSICAL VOICE.
The internet is filled with misinformation and AI slop.
Authenticity is a commodity, truth is a rarity.
These are gifts that we can only give to one another if we SPEAK UP.
Now try it and tell me what you think!โค๏ธ
22.01.2025 22:02 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0When youโre wrapping up a song, or a speech, or whatever, end by creating a short, empty moment.
Pause, look around, and then finish.
Leave a lasting impression.
Speak, or sing.
Keep your head lifted, and be deliberate with your words.
Feel the start, middle, and end of each one. And when you want to pause, BREATHE โ but donโt drop your eyes.
Weโre still on your schedule.
Try it out:
Start alone, with a friend, or in a group. Prepare to speak, or sing, by lifting your head.
When you have everyoneโs attention, take a long breath in.
Wait. Settle into your body.
Now begin.
Often, that initial pause is enough to put everyone on your time.
Another thing: Pauses arenโt just for the audience โ theyโre also a chance for you to settle and reset if you feel like youโre going too fast.
Speak slowly. Sing slow songs. โค๏ธ
Linger on every word, or just the right words.
I guarantee this will give you more power.
Why?
Slowing down creates focus. ๐๏ธ
Pauses create anticipation. ๐
These are negative spaces that people fill with their attention.
USE THEM when youโre speaking or singing to draw people in closer to you.
when you do it successfully, theyโll be on your schedule.
THAT is how to control time.
Why is this?
When youโre in the โhot seat,โ thereโs a lot of adrenaline flowing.
Going slow, or taking a pause โ any pause โ can feel like it lasts a LIFETIME.
But these slow, empty moments are where the magic happens. ๐ฅ
The weird thing about speaking or singing in front of others is that we often feel pressure to go fast. Why?
We fear losing attention or being โboring.โ
Yet when you look back at videos of yourself, youโre probably going way too quick through your speech or your song.
How you can use your voice to control time: a thread ๐งต
22.01.2025 22:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This makes me a little sad, though, because it seems to imply that time + education are luxuries/privileges. They should be human rights. What do you think?
16.01.2025 13:05 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This is not a totally originally thought, but itโs landing for me in a new way today as Iโm thinking about how to show up in my life.

โ these very human traits that we have tried to cover up will be (or maybe already are?) a commodity.
This is going to be reflected across all expressive media.
Being messy is IN
๐ฆ
Iโm calling it right now โ speling misstakes and im-perfect grammar are going to become more acceptable, or even desirable, as AI-perfected writing populates our feeds
So will singing out of tune, making mistakes on the piano, stuttering while speaking, having imperfect hair / makeup
