I used to feel a bit insecure about the gaps in my music/music theory knowledge, but actually if you spend enough time on music Insta, you’ll find that people are out there saying and arguing some really baffling things

I tried the whole X/Y mic configuration for the first time today and y’know what? I’m into it! It’s like a mono guitar, with just a touch more width and extra detail which this little parlour guitar really benefited from. That K&M stereo bar is trash though. Damn thing won’t sit still.

Writing *and* practising some Man & Dog stuff this evening. The quick picking style switches really sucked to get down at full tempo, but I think we’re getting there

I got a PO-12 by Teenage Engineering over the holidays so I figured I’d try it out on a project and I’m pretty darn impressed with the quality of these sounds going straight into my DAW as they are. An idiot (like me!) can make these sound good.

I got Andy Weir’s ‘Project Hail Mary’ for Christmas. I swear my body clock has shifted due to my inability to put it down. It’s a very special Sci-if story with a lot of sound(?) science that plays such an important role in the story telling. I don’t know where I go from here. Sad, sad, sad.

Being a screen composer means being bored of doing the same thing over and over to then still complain when you’re suddenly tasked with writing and arranging some huge genre bending score that no one said you had to do

As of next Wednesday I will have written scores for a total of 208 episodes of Peppa Pig Tales and I just find that a bit bloody baffling tbh
