The University of Warwick has paid a lot of money, I'm guessing, for their internet banner ads on the Guardian and elsewhere.

But they can't spell "curiosity". This isn't a US-UK variant. They just, genuinely, have a massive spelling error in their banner ads.

I won’t RT that clip of Boris Johnson, because I think we’d all seen enough of him for a lifetime already, but to adapt the words of Christopher Hitchens: if you gave that man an enema, you could fit him in a matchbox

i agree with will about this. contrast 1M covid deaths with how long our national politics were gripped by the memory of 3,000 people dying on 9/11

I think we’re on the cusp of mass attempts to automate teaching, and I also think it is going to be a massive wasteful failure in ways that will make the β€œlearning loss” of the pandemic look like a speed bump next to a mountain.

Stop trying to please people that already don't like you. Instead embrace the idea of being the most annoying person in their lives.

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.

Offshore wind farms are forced to pay Β£879,000,000 a year in rent payments for tiny areas of the sea.

This all goes to the Crown Estate and YOU pay for it through increased electricity bills.

This con provides most of King Charles' 'income'.

Leaflet reading:
"Plymouth Tree People Need Your Help

PTP have partnered with the University of Plymouth and we need volunteers to survey trees this summer.

What is involved?

We need volunteers to measure new and established trees. It's quick and easy and doe not need any specialist knowledge. We provide training, equipment, and support.

All the data we gather will help us improve survival rates and that means more trees for Plymouth.

If you're interested or would like to find out more, please email Matt Underwood at matt.underwood@plymouthtrees.org. We will be carrying out training in August. Please get in touch with any questions you may have."

Keir Starmer is not popular. We know this. Partly because he's PM and partly, well, lots of reasons. But if you've taken to describing him as "evil," maybe, just maybe, you're suffering from too much Internet, and you need to go out and get some fresh air.

This.

Evaluations by students have never produced actionable items for teaching improvement and they were never meant to. They provide post hoc justifications for personnel decisions (whether positive or negative) and encourage students to think of education as a transactional activity.

James O’Brien is bang on.

What Starmer has done with regards Israel, is the very definition of diplomacy.

We were crying out for dull, well meaning 5 years ago under Johnson. Instead of stupid, self interested sound bites.
