Jim Ward, the voice of Doug Dimmadome, Chet Ubetcha, Captain Qwark and more, has sadly passed away at the age of 66, his radio colleague Stephanie Miller confirms.

More details on the PC troubles I solved recently:

On top of CS6 wrecking Win11's startup, it ALSO breaks my PC's ability to read CDs. I couldn't even mount ISOs. I had to dive into the registry to delete the entry that was bork'd.

Luckily, I believe all of this has been resolved. YAY!

I guess Win11 rejects one of the drivers it tries to install, but not before screwing up the registry and bricking the startup.

Anyways, HALLELUJAH! Maybe now I'll see some heckin' stability.

It's CS6.

.....welp... that's tragic.

All I know is that my PC was running perfectly fine for the last month. Only NOW has the startup error returned after I tried to install CS6 again, which requires the Bluray drive to do so.

If it's the drive's fault, I have ideas on how to get around it.

If it's CS6... that would be tragic.

Okay.

I'm starting to think the reason Win11 keeps getting bricked is because of one of two possibilities:

1: The USB Bluray drive I'm plugging in is breaking a driver crucial to startup

2: I keep trying to install Adobe CS6, which is an ancient software that was never intended for this OS

Just because folks in my generation were really relaxed on what we shared about ourselves does NOT mean that you have to be as well.

We've learned that it's a good thing to keep your IRL life private. Not just for your safety, but because your personal info is valuable.
