P1 were full of energy during YMI last week! They kept up with Offenbach’s 'Can-Can' and showed fantastic rhythm and enthusiasm! 🎶💃

We have been working hard to identify and form numbers to 10! We identified each number and worked out where it belonged on a number line before creating our own. 🔢✨

We’ve also been exploring the letter and sound ‘m’ 🧲🌙🍄. We loved using macaroni to make our marvellous ‘m’s! 😁

Last week, we learned all about a new letter and sound – ‘r’ 🔴🌈🐰. We worked hard to form the letter ‘r’ in Rice Krispies!

P1 have been working hard on recognising and reading initial sounds 🔤✨. We had great fun playing ‘Roll a Sound’ with a partner to consolidate our learning of s, a, t, p, i and n! 🎲👫

We had a super successful first visit to our school library! 🤩 We loved browsing through the books on offer and couldn’t wait to take them home to share with our families! 📚☺️

We have been working hard to identify initial sounds! In pairs, we completed a sorting task to decide whether words began with ‘t’ or ‘p’. 🐢🦷📍🍐

We have been continuing to develop our understanding of patterns and enjoyed creating our own colour and shape patterns! 🖌️🎨

P1 have been exploring patterns! We’ve been learning to describe and identify patterns in our surroundings as well as making our own repeating patterns! 🔵🟢🔵🟢

We have been busy learning all about syllables! We listened carefully to each word and worked out how many syllables we could hear! 👂✨

On Friday we were learning all about the number 3! We loved taking our learning outdoors and enjoyed practising forming the number with chalk! ✍🏻3️⃣

We have been learning to recognise and identify rhyming words! In one of our red tasks we looked at pictures and said the words aloud, listening carefully to decide whether they rhymed.👂✅📚

Last week we continued to develop our ability to form the letter 's' using playdough! 🐍❄️🦭☀️
