Was getting ready to bake the pumpkin pie and realized I had no ginger,so I switched gears. Then I burnt the pecans for the chocolate bourbon pecan pie 🙃 did I want to give up? Yes. Did I? No! I prevailed. Pecan pie is in the oven (with a second, unburnt batch of nuts)

Today was my family’s Thanksgiving and Saturday we’re hosting my in-laws (for the first time!!!) so by time Sunday rolls around I will have spend most of the week cooking and I’m already very tired. Trying to muster up energy to bake a pie or two tonight.

Some do turkey again, but I think other things are more common, like ham. My family does prime rib and Italian food— lasagna, sausage and peppers, etc.

Okay the thinking here was that Ed’s insistence that he’s got “one gun, and one knife, like everyone else” reminded me of the Water Buffalo song from Silly Songs with Larry. “Everybody’s got a water buffalo, yours is fast but mine is slow…”
