OTD in 1991 Ukrainians, including those in Crimea, voted overwhelmingly for independence from USSR.
I don't like that vote result, so I am changing the voters and having new votes.
OTD in 2021 Russian Embassy on Londonograd reported that US & UK were manipulating false claims of a Russian invasion & occupation of Ukraine to spread panic.
Which is why you can believe us now we say we want peace.
It's true that I self-publish, and maybe that means my stuff is not as polished as the big publishing houses claim their stuff is.
OTOH: nothing I put out has had AI touch it with a bargepole.
My work is my own. Available on Amazon, ibooks, B&N, & KOBO.

It's somewhat amusing that you can pass yourself off as a Russia expert commenting on this "peace deal" as messy but at least "a way to end the war" without realising Kremlin sees it as just a tactic to continue it later.
It will end nothing.
The hairstyle is probably 1920s.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

07.11.2025 14:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Weirdly, the baby plants can do just fine in a glass of water. I suspect they develop a different type of roots in that context.
I have a few baby plants in water right now. If you want to try again, let me know and I'll pot one up for you.
You might also try a location with less sun, esp if the leaves go a little yellowish instead of a nice green. I've had good results with bright indirect light like a north window. If it's bright enough, they don't need to be in a window. They like humidity too - a bathroom can be a good location.
06.11.2025 16:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If the leaves start to go black at the tips, that means it's getting too much water. (Ordinary die-back is more tan/brown.)
If it's getting parched, the leaves will start to go a little yellow and curl inward, though this is kinda subtle. But with water, they'll recover.
My best guess is overwatering. They seem to handle soil that's too dry better than too wet. Once a week is OK, but less water at a time - let it dry out pretty thoroughly.
Plastic or glazed pots retain water well so the soil takes quite a while to dry out compared to unglazed terracotta.
Where did you put it/them? How often do you water? Any symptoms before they kicked it?

I read a book that Margaret Mead wrote in ~1947, and she observed this behaviour of Americans even then: the tendency to mistake what they aspire to be as a country for how it actually is, to the point that they ignore inconvenient facts.

To have clothes tailored to flatter your imperfect form is thus a lie: you're pretending to be good when you're not. You're supposed to stop sinning first, hence the comments saying this fellow should fix his physical imperfections before he's allowed to have nice pants.
05.10.2025 21:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But how are people going to know you're good person if they can't see your body? Clothes that are tight or otherwise reveal your shape. So tight clothes can function (for some) as virtue signaling.
05.10.2025 21:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've heard it said that being physically attractive is now broadly considered a moral obligation: if a person is attractive they are virtuous, and if not they are sinful.
If this is what's going on, then people can judge whether someone is good or bad on the basis of a photo.
