I don't know how to break it to the people who are apparently just learning it from Eggers' NOSFERATU for the first time, but one of the massive engines thrumming beneath the surface of pretty much all gothic horror is "women being extremely horny."

I am not a hater, but I found Depp's performance to be quite bad, though without it the movie would not have been suddenly saved from being what it is. Tonally it felt closer to something like '99's Sleepy Hollow than The VVitch.

Nosferatu was a bit of a letdown personally, my least favored of Eggers's work by a healthy amount. It just didn't emotionally resonate with my like his previous work and felt less well-crafted and intentional, somewhat owing to the larger scale.

I see way more people jumping into posts about how DH ISN'T a Christmas movie to say that it is, than the other way around. Don't engage and then be surprised people are reactive to engagement.

Its fine to just ignore posts that say a movie isn't a thing if you think it is.

So its not that you need people to let you have your Christmas tradition, its that you need them to AGREE that its a Christmas movie? If you're angry about this on Christmas Eve, log off and go watch the ultimate Christmas film???

Its absolutely allowed to make watching Die Hard a part of your Christmas tradition without the movie itself being a Christmas film internally.

If someone wanted to watch Miracle on 34th Street in July, that would seem odd because its a Christmas movie. If someone wanted to watch Die Hard in July (the month it was released) it would be perfectly fine because it isn't one.

Santa's elves are actually dwarves, right? Short lil craftsmen with no mention of long-lives, ethereal beauty or affinity for nature? No shade to the worldbuilding, but that's a dwarf.
