As @breunig.bsky.social and I find in our book "Means, Motives, and Opportunities: How Executives and Interest Groups Set Public Policy", Parks and Natural Resources budgets at the state level are particularly vulnerable to strong executive actions. Seems so, too, in federal budgeting.

A student sent me an email reporting back on a bbq place I visited 20 years ago, found another place, and also told me she got into a masters program.

I've never felt more successful as a teacher.

I still can’t get over the fact that three presidents were born not only in the same year but the same summer. Literally the first baby boomers, as the baby boom started about 9 months after the end of World War II.
