F.B.I. Is Asked to Arrest Texas Democrats in Battle Over House Seats
This is a demand for unconstitutional, arbitrary power. There is no offense against the United States here. The FBI has no role to assist the State of Texas in becoming an authoritarian enclave.

Genuinely, if this happens, it is blatantly against any federal law, and quite literally throws the Constitution out the window. The US would no longer be a union of states.

Obligatory sign tap, this is a direct and flagrant violation of the Emoluments Clause, a Congress that wasn’t completely broken and complicit in Trump’s crimes would impeach him for this by the end of the day, yadda yadda, you already know this and I’m tired.

I make a lot of President Fanucci jokes but this is taking the subtext and making it text. He’s demanding a bribe. It’s pay to play with Trump, and six months in, he’s done hiding it.

It costs $1200 a pound just to get stuff into orbit! How much more to get it to the moon, land it safely, get people there, to build the shit. In a vacuum!!!

The human race hasn’t sent a person to the moon for 50 years and has never sent a piece of machinery more complicated than a modern car, if you’re wondering whether this is anything more than another way for Trump to funnel government money to favored oligarchs.

The Constitution requires that states keep a “republican form of government”, which seems incompatible with a governor deciding by fiat that a bunch of elections don’t count.

One thing about having someone like Trump as president is questions that would ordinarily be horrendously misogynistic become reasonable to ask because Trump absolutely would trade sex for influence.

A massive regressive national sales tax imposed upon every American by a president with no constitutional authority to impose a national sales tax. The reason why the founders gave this power to Congress is because this would never pass any Congress- even this one.

this is an absolute twenty alarm fire and I just cannot bring myself to believe capital, in one way or another, isn’t going to reel him in on this.
we can’t have a real economy without the goddamn labor numbers. it just doesn’t work.

Some bald face lies he can get away with because people don’t know the truth. But close to 70% of Americans have a prescription, and they’ll know that the cost of their drug hasn’t gone down.

the USA built a system of higher education so good that smart/rich people from across the world came here, spending billions to learn here, subsidizing education for Americans while spending money to live in our cities and towns. our government arbitrarily decided we should stop doing that

It's the going for help with Pritzker that makes this truly remarkable and potentially a sign of national Democratic coordination

The thing is, it did kind of use to be true. If you needed votes to get a bill passed you’d ask the most moderate members of the other party “What’ll it take to get you on board?” And put that in the bill. That had a moderating effect. But that’s gone. Just doesn’t happen anymore.

The story of how Trump sells access to the White House - to benefit himself and his family financially and to benefit his political operation - is shocking and sordid.
No President has ever monetized access like Trump has.
1/ It's a story you need to know.

The media coverage of the dismissal of the BLS commissioner as another “wild time in Trumpland” shows that the media is more committed to entertainment than news. Any reputable news organization should report what the BLS does, why it is important, and why its work should not be politicized.

Yeah I’m impressed, it’s a pretty park. And I live in Atlanta so I’m very much enjoying the lack of humidity.
