Came home shattered after work, half-dead on the couch. Then I heard distressed meows outside and suddenly I was sprinting down the stairs like I was Usain Bolt.
Not my cat but I wish it was.

Writing in lunch break.
Book 2 of The Order Of The Dragon
A colleague is halfway through my book and enjoying it. She bought a paperback copy as a birthday present for her fantasy-reader friend, and today she brought it into the office for me to dedicate it.
Signing my book at work wasnโt surreal at all. ๐
I mean Vanessa Kirby ๐, Pedro Pascal and the guy who played Eddie Munson in Stranger Things? I would have probably watched this even if it had been just commercials for two hours with them.

Two stunning books, one hauntingly beautiful world. J. L. Odomโs second novel hits harder, cuts deeper, and leaves you craving the third. Full review:

Iโve been watching Ginny & Georgia for uncomplicated fun & relaxation. As Iโm nearing the end of season 2, I finally have to acknowledge that all this time Iโve been admiring a sociopath, whoโs emotionally compartmentalised so hard that even murder can sit neatly next to dinner prep and shopping.

29.06.2025 18:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A slow-burn masterpiece with the emotional weight of literary fiction wrapped in the grit of military fantasy. J.L. Odomโs debut floored me.

- the first few episodes? I was curious what the hype was about but not overly impressed
- by the end of the second season I was both addicted and in awe
- having finished all four seasons, NASA owes me therapy. Season 5 now, please
Iโve read three of these and just started the fourth. Based on the quality on offer, this is going to be one hell of a competition!

I finished reading Of Love And Loss by @bshgarcia.bsky.social today. Itโs a masterclass in epic fantasy craftsmanship.

Pychl, (2019)
In other words, procrastination is less about a task youโre delaying and more about the underlying feelings induced by the task youโre avoiding.
Even though I havenโt blogged regularly in years, my old posts still get steady traffic โ and that quiet support means a lot. So Iโve decided to return with something new (and very me): introducing some of my favourite London neighbourhoods. ๐

โThe parchment was like a dead friendโs skin under my touch. Its wrinkles and age spots a testament to its fight against timeโs claws, the ink turning into its own ghost as it whispered my story back to me.โ

The author of A Gamble of Gods has my banter blood book! Honoured. It's in front of an amp I think as well? Far cooler positioning than it deserves but 10/10 colour match.

The cover of the book that held her heart by Mark Lawrence. A fantastical library that is many levels in various shades of purples, pink and oranges. In the lower left-hand corner is a black raven.
The Book That Held Her Heart is one of the most emotional and satisfying endings to a trilogy I've read in a while. #booksky
