As we countdown to the tariffs, I'm thinking of the 11 year old version of me who in 1989, was filled with so much hope for Canada's future under free trade.

Willing to bet I was the only one writing about politics in our Grade 5 class journals!

Similar efforts, although with individuals much less vulnerable than patients in mental health crisis, are known to happen here in this province during campaign season.

It doesn't help that our Election legislation was written before the internet was a thing so lots of loopholes to play with.

Residents of the Avalon Peninsula were blessed with a few hours of sunny skies amid weeks of RDF & we made the most of it!

Well, I tried last March & this is how it ended. We brought a handful of ppl from tent city to sit in the gallery so the Minister of Housing would be forced to look at them as he blatantly misrepresented the services they were being offered. He didn't care & it was incredibly disappointing.

Does Bluesky have a support group for people who still watch the HoA despite how enraging it is?

Reminder that charity groups like NIN wouldn't be necessary if gov't ensured all citizens had access to adequate food, shelter & healthcare.

Witch-hunts won't change a thing for the true victims of this mess; our energies are better spent ensuring gov't delivers on all pieces of the Health Accord.

I planned to go down with the ship but it was turning into the titanic and we all know the odds of those types of adventures.

As my therapist says, sometimes you just have to let yourself feel the fucking pain. Gabor says processing and releasing it will ease your physical pain & that’s certainly been the case with me

Dan Siegel has a tool called Wheel of Awareness (explained in his book Aware). It’s a meditation practice that encourages you to explore emotions from ‘above’ in an unattached state. I hope that makes sense. I learned about Siegel before Mate but heard Mate refer to the wheel in a podcast recently

I’ve been reading them as well haha Recently been digging into Jung’s work & finding it super helpful AND extremely relevant for today’s crisis of humanity. I’m reaching a crossover point between psychology and philosophy in order to figure out to survive the current rapture of capitalist society

I already have a regular group that meets up every morning but we there’s always room for more!

They’re all great but I feel like he took all the core lessons from his previous work & really fleshes them out in the newest. I’m utilizing it more like a text book than a leisurely read; so much wisdom that can be applied in many ways.

This is Gabor Mate’s theory in the Myth of Normal. I’m a believer. I like to refer to my brain as neurospicy bc it better reflect its capabilities!
