They define the media narrative quickly, forcing us to be reactive. They invest in messaging infrastructure, from think tanks to social media influencers. The Lesson: The Extreme Right didn’t win overnight. They spent decades building think tanks, funding media, and training messengers to shape public opinion. It’s time we do the same.

how we start Messaging That Wins— A Four-Step Plan CREATE Craft messaging that is simple, emotional, and engaging. No jargon. No policy-speak. If it can’t fit on a bumper sticker, it’s too complicated. EQUIP Equip activists, leaders, and influencers with strong messaging skills. Every progressive should be able to confidently communicate our ideas in a way that excites people. FRAME Set the narrative early—and stop waiting for fairness. Far Right Extremists create simple, emotional messages and repeat them relentlessly. We must define the real threats (TheHoarding Class, Extreme Christian Nationalists) first—using facts, but framing them in ways that resonate with real people. EXPOSE Shut down misinformation fast. Don’t repeat misinformation —provide facts from reputable sources that contradict viral misinformation. Messaging is power. Let’s use it.
