Sand Land was an anime adaptation I had wanted for a while after reading the one shot back in the day at a library. Sorry for gushing.

And Sand Land, while nothing groundbreaking, was a passion project, and Im glad the man got to finally see it animated and in game form.

If Im being honest, some celebs did amazing when they were cast in Ghibli dubs (see Tina Fey and Liam Neeson in Ponyo, or Susan Egan in Porco Rosso and Spirited Away).

I dont think a majority of Hollywood celebs could do full series. Emily Rudd is amazing as Marcille, but that's an exception.

And then Toriyama did pretty damn good helping with Daima. It felt like Dragon Ball again. They were on a JOURNEY.

I'm surprised Toriyama handled juggling the Sand Land anime, game as well as Daima (and potentially Super Hero) development as well as he did.

I kind of have a similar thing about Dragon Ball Z/Super compared to the original. It became less about the journey and more about the fights. Don't get me wrong, there's some cool fights, but yeah.

And YuYu Hakusho moving from mysteries with demons and spirits thrown into another battle shonen.

That feeling when you take interest on a series far too late that there's barely anyone left.
