8️⃣. But are Apple going to try and compete directly with Open AI and Google with their own chat bot? I don’t see that happening for the foreseeable. But we’ll have to wait and see. What’s your opinion?

7️⃣. That doesn’t mean they won’t build more robust capabilities with their own LLM’s. Or do deals with other companies etc. And I do think we’ll see some exciting advancements in the next year from Apple.

6️⃣. Apple is betting that in the long term that trust, privacy and tight integration matter more to the average person who make up the vast majority of their user base.

5️⃣. What we do know is that Apple isn’t trying to build the best chatbot. It’s trying to build technology that feels almost invisible to the user. Features that enable people to do more without them even realising in some cases that they’re using them.

4️⃣. But let’s be honest. Siri’s reputation took a hit years ago. The 2024 demo of promised and still yet to arrive features didn’t win everyone over. Meanwhile ChatGPT and Gemini feel light years ahead in conversation.

3️⃣. Apple isn’t ignoring AI. But they are trying to play a different game with privacy at the heart of it. That frustrates a lot of people because its slow going right now. Especially with how limited Siri is and how its current features can be so inconsistent.

2️⃣. But we also know that Apple isn’t trying to be OpenAI. It’s building a privacy first strategy, deeply tied to on device processing and private cloud computer. AI more as a set of features rather than a spectacle
