Belfast... In the east of the city, but I can travel.

It used to be that fascists were scared. It shames us all that they aren't scared anymore.

On a blue Workbench 1.3 background, an orange, white, and brown icon with a straw hat wearing cheeky monkey leaning over a banner with the game's name on it and wielding a flint lock pistol.

Click it and a cutlass wielding monkey burns out of the banner!

Coming with greets this morning (hello!), quite possibly the greatest game icon ever coded.

Commodore Amiga game icons would often have two states, unclicked and clicked. And here, with Lucasfilms' The Secret of Monkey Island, we see how creative some programmers and artists could get with them.

You are really tempting me to get a Psion. πŸ˜‚

I wonder what games are available on them...

"The organization will also remove some titles won by players who won in women's categories and later transitioned to male. It will also remove some titles won by transgender men."

Wow, this really makes sense and definitely isn't driven solely by bigotry and hatred.

World chess just placed restrictions on both trans women and trans men The International Chess Federation will stop allowing transgender women to participate in women's tournaments. The group said changing genders has a "significant impact" on a player's status.

All you need to know about transphobes/terfs/gender critical people is that they think trans people have an unfair advantage in chess.

I remember the days of Lovefilm, which was similar.

I was able to get access to so much 'world cinema' that I thought it was just the best service.

Netflix may have become 'more convenient' but I'd argue it is worse in so many ways due to a paucity of exposure to new films and decision paralysis.

I'd walk straight out.

"Could be simplified"? Yes, Word, but that's not the purpose. Communication isn't about efficiency, and nor is art. You don't listen to a beautiful song and go "this would be simpler if they just played one note over and over"

Last post: I had to use Word for something recently and had a similar experience. Every suggestion could be summed up as β€œYour text sounds quite lively and interesting, have you considered draining it of all life and colour instead?” Absolutely soul-crushing stuff.

β€œIt’s just a tool! People used to hate on photoshop too.”

Take away my photoshop, take away my tablets, I can still draw. Take away your plagiarism machine and what are you gonna do? Shout prompts at me?

I knew Australia was huge but I didn't quite appreciate how huge it was until I flew over it in January.

It seemed to go on forever.

Anyone talking about the 90s like it was a feminist haven free of a manosphere has clearly forgotten about what the 90s was actually like or never bothered to study it

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.
