Folami has killed every attacking drive when he's received the ball. Either a bad first touch and a turnover or just no end product. With two talented LW in the squad it simply beggars belief that Veart keeps giving him the starting spot.

Uncharacteristically for Adelaide, they're bypassing the City press quite well when they keep the ball on the floor and look to move it with urgency.

It's when they stop and try to slow the tempo that the hesitation sets in and Vriends in particular has been poor there.

Playing Yull in place of Folami has been a huge miss by Veart. Absolutely nothing coming from the left because Talladira can't overlap without leaving space behind and Yull is just doing his usual and playing centrally leaving nobody out wide. Really poor adjustment.

Another set piece goal conceded. Veart and the coaches need to wake up and realise the marking scheme and "get first contact" approach simply don't work. Especially when nobody even challenges for the ball.

Veart was vocal early this season that the club has not gotten recruitment right the last few seasons, and Folami is the absolute epitome of that.

Not only is he getting starts over 2 players who actually contribute, but he's on a 4 year deal without proving he's worth it. Shocking.

Marking scheme is a mess, there's holes in transition, and too much asked of the two actual defenders to do all the work in deeper areas.

Conceding 2 goals a game is entirely unsustainable at this level.

Biggest takeaway from that game? This Adelaide coaching staff has no idea how to organise a defence.

4 years at the helm for Veart and the defence gets worse each time. Not good enough for a club with aspirations of being a table topper.
