I have also made a 1k racing game. Honestly it's kind of wild what you can fit into 1kB of Lua, a decidedly not-small language, even if we are compressing it by nearly 50%. There's some really cool stuff in the #Pico1k jam.

I made a wordlike roguesearch. You have to pick 1 "K" in a letter grid, and after each success you pick a new detriment -- AND the letters of the detriment you selected get added to the grid, making it harder to find the next K. Made in exactly 1024 bytes for #pico1k jam!

Hitting up against the limits again for #pico1k. Added in a bunch the features that I wanted, and the game's starting to really come together. You can finally actually lose a run, and playing the game is cutting into my dev time, always a good sign. :D

I made a tiny space arcade game for the #Pico1k jam, so it's 864 bytes of compressed Lua code (and no assets).
It's a "run through the rings to gain time and shoot targets for points" game. Not loads to it but pretty pleased with it given the constraints.
Made a submission to #Pico1k!
It's my implementation of a cool fire effect i saw in this blog article: haqr.eu/strange/curs...
Making good progress on #pico1k!
Moved all of the sprite assets into code, smoothed the animations, and shrank a bunch of the logic code down, made it down under 1009 bytes compressed.
Now time to enter my favorite loop--each byte I remove gives me more bytes to add new stuff in. :D
