I’m hoping we can find Mem a lasting solution. They aren’t safe where they are, physically, mentally, or health-wise. The quickest and most effective step forward involves them getting a car, getting their apartment cleaned, and being fed. They need urgent help, and they need continued support.

It feels ridiculous to even consider my own mental health when my friend is drowning. But still, Mem tells me to take care of myself.

I was then sent a screenshot of a close friend making fun of me behind my back, making fun of my advocacy for Mem. Making fun of Mem. Then I threw up.

My friend Mem is rationing their food and meds, because they can’t afford to have both.
I stay up at night, anxious for them. I can’t really take a social media break when no one is helping them, and this is the most helpful thing I can do.

Mem gave up their meal today to afford food for their cats. Their rent is due tomrorow. They need winter clothes. They need medication. Do you see them??

Text describes that while Mem needs help in many ways and it can feel overwhelming to read about. However, it is even more overwhelming for Mem to fight these struggles alone. Mem and friends are looking for a solution to keep Mem afloat, that way they don’t have to rely on donations. However, this takes time. It is impossible to prioritize finding a solution when you’re constantly just waiting for your next meal. Without help, Mem WILL become homeless (houseless). Can you help prevent it? We don’t want this to be Mem’s reality forever. But this is the reality now. It’s easy to scroll past, but please don’t leave Mem to figure this out alone.

Text reiterates how trips to the grocery store and deliveries are more expensive without a car, and therefore Mem only makes large grocery orders to avoid multiple fees and trips that risk their health. Because of scarce donations, Mem typically can not go to the store or make large orders to be delivered, and therefore has to rely on quick and cheaper (in the moment) fast food and meal deliveries, that accumulate to be more expensive in the long run. It is more expensive to be poor. An equation is drawn to show that $200 is needed for groceries and $100 is needed for cat food, toiletries, cleaning supplies, etc., equaling $300 needed for a sustainable store order. If Mem could raise $300, it would substantially help them financially and health-wise.

This is what I’m talking about when I say the scarce donations don’t go far! :( tiny amounts can add up, but we need enough people to even donate that tiny amount. Mem CAN NOT keep living like this. Please don’t think someone else will eventually save them.

Mem lost their car in a hit & run, leaving them in an even worse situation than before. Being on the streets is so scary, and while disabled?! It’s not fun to talk about, but this is extremely dangerous and likely.

Mem can’t save any money for big bills with such scarce donations. Every time they get the smallest bit it has to go to food. It’s easy to think your $5 goes toward a 1k rent goal, but when you’re the only one donating for DAYS, that $5 does not stay in savings.
