This is absolutely horrific stuff. I shouldn't be surprised anymore but just makes all the responding to consultations and pushing my employer to resist the bullshit new guidance seem incredibly pointless when the government are just going to push ahead anyway.

But in the end, I also know that all of these reasons are exactly why the establishment is so against it because to have it would mean relinquishing such power, which is why it's important, which it's why it will be so difficult, spiral spiral etc etc

Thinking of things like direct action for Palestine if people didn't have to turn up for the job they hate to pay the bills; an endless strike fund to demand better work, if not just the complete disappearance of terrible exploitative work because people can just say no to it

I think subconsciously I probably want to start writing about basic income more because I get annoyed that it isn't viewed more seriously by the left not just as an end in itself but what could be achieved as a result of having it
