Bara Imambara is an incredible palace in Lucknow India, with an odd story. Built in the late 18th century it was meant to give m the poor work during a famine. To keep the work going the legend has it that the noblemen would break work down at night so the poor continued to have work the next day.
Why must people prove they deserve the absolute basics? We've never been better off for it, and we know basic income works.

Doesn't mention BI, BUT it is interesting where it finishes on the subject of how $10/day childcare makes things possible. Money from an additional stream tackles needed flexibility and unconditionality would cut through any uncertainty and confusion.

One thing I've heard is "all the social workers will be out of work" with basic income. They could form bands like David Graeber says, but also they could do the actually helping work they wanted to do in the first place as opposed to policing people's lives.

We need to transition to an actual economy. That simply produces stuff for us.
We can not continue to maintain an "economy" that forces us into debt, poverty and to fight over money.
