They do, don't they? And presumably a lot of businesses that involve needing to travel there. Lots of creative people too, I'd imagine.

If anyone is feeling bad about taking time off from mental or physical burnout, don't. Even if you aren't infectious, it does nobody any favours if you struggle through and then become much iller for longer. That includes time off from domestic duties too.

Hahahahahaha, fuck RIGHT off. And, yeah, the Trump administration is very definitely totally not fascist, mm-hmm, that's just hyperbole!

Show me a fictional character that altered your brain's chemistry

(This one from the source novel long before the film, but... I'm choosing Vaughan here, but you can't get to that destination without the journey of the Ballard character)

I feel like this is because Home Office ministers (most cabinet ministers, tbf) are irredeemably awful, empathy-free cunts, whose decisions will never affect them on a personal level. This is a terrible idea - potentially fatally terrible in some cases.

So Down & Out went out of business in October without paying their authors, including the great @beaujohnson44.bsky.social. Now they’re back β€œunder new ownership”? Do what you want, but I’d encourage writers to stay away from this one.

I'm not a dancer by any means, but I will dance a fucking jig on the day Rupert Murdoch finally dies. 40+ years too late to make a difference, but worth celebrating nonetheless.

The deluxe version reissue of the BLUE SUNSHINE album, the only one released by The Glove collaboration between Robert Smith and Steve Severin, vocals by Landray. The artwork is suitably psychedelic, with a '60s-vibed photo collage swirling in the trail of a flying blue glove inspired by the flying blue glove in the Yellow Submarine film.

Just unearthed this little beauty, assumed disappeared from various possible locations. Love the main version, but having the Robert Smith vocal demos is such a brilliant bonus.

Hadley Freeman
pete_wharmby_books Ah, as expected the right wing press (and Freeman's pipeline from the Guardian op-Ed pages to the Times is worth looking into) is now piling on, suggesting that these scary ADHD activists are just trying to ruin things for everyone.
Not, like, try to improve people's self esteem and sense of what is going on.
2025 is so horrifyingly, predictably *boring*

then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

Because joy is resistance and because the fascists have no art in them, or magic.

Some goats who grew up during the heyday of Slipknot, Linkin Park and Korn, and had always wanted to form their own band within the nu metal subgenre, but now, having finally been brave enough to commit and go for it, are trying to brave it out and conceal their concern that they might have left it too late to fit in with prevailing musical trends.

A collection of photographs of excellent goats I have met during walks in the British countryside.

My employment has been unstable since quarantine (like a lot of people) so it's no exaggeration that presales on this zine alone have made an enormous difference for my economic reality this month. The support is humbling and it's 100% why I can spend so much time on these passion projects πŸ’—

It was such a long time since I last read it, but I rectified that this morning. I feel like I'm overdue some Ligotti rereading, but I'll definitely check out the Red Tower anthology next.
