Why I don't like the analogy is that there are multiple auctions which all can help. I agree withbyou, that small things like white roofs should not distract from the issue - and the root cause. However adaptations will need to be done. 1.5 C is behind us, the climate has changed already.

Noone is forced to do single action only. I dont know how USA plans on fixing the suburbia, but for sure it will take decades. Recolouring roofs is def. shorter time scale.

You still not getting the point I assume. I am not saying we shouldn't be doing whatever is possible. But some actions do have imminent effect on those who do them. Some simply dont. This doesn't mean that they shouldn't be done.

Ofc, but my point was that if you reduce CO2 emissions locally,you dont get the temperature reduction effect until majority of the world jumps in, unfortunately. I don't dispute the fact that many of those actions inprove QoL in other ways.

You can look at it from different angle. Roof colour is something which is sufficient to solve on a municipality level and is easily achievable with imminent effect, while fossil fuels need global action.
