Brain droppings from an ST6 Psychiatrist in East London, working in a memory service and dementia inpatient unit. I mostly end up talking about the news.

Ooh, it’s that last sentence that made something click for me.

I would add that Disco is not exceptionally long by gaming standards. Elden Ring, Baldur’s Gate, Red Dead 2… yes, those are part-time jobs.

(though you may find yourself making the time once you get sucked in!)

I was going to make the same comment. Of course, there is too much excellent art out there for any one lifetime, but IMV too many people have completely cut themselves off from a whole medium!

Non-gamers can still carve out a space for exceptional games.

Thank you for a bit of outer London representation (where people with kids tend to actually live!)

I don't think licensing is the right approach but I do think that sellers have a moral responsibility to do a bit of due diligence on their customers, especially with more complex pets. When we adopted our parrot, we had a home assessment and an interview with the rescue charity.

UK launches review into state pension age Move announced as government also appoints commission to look at boosting retirement savings

"According to the government, almost half of the working-age population β€” about 18mn people β€” are not saving anything for their retirement. Only one in five of the self-employed are saving into a pension, down from half in the late 1990s."

"Yikes" doesn't cover it!

Trump and Maga are no longer the same thing A summer of splits shows what post-Trump conservatism will look like

"We have to entertain the notion that Trump is a moderating influence on a movement thatΒ will become much more doctrinal once he is gone. He approaches the world through personal relations, which are malleable, not ideas, which aren’t. on.ft.com/46eU139

Not sure! The article says "pay", I paraphrased as salary.

Article says he's donating his salary to his charity, to be fair.

I have definitely had it in my head that a million million is somehow a legitimate "alternative" definition of billion. Until I think: no, it definitely isn't!

So this is interesting.

Penniless and homeless, Raynor and Moth Winn found fame with their story of their 630-mile walk to salvation. The Salt Path became a global bestseller and was adapted into a major film.

But we can reveal it wasn’t the whole truth.

What are the rules about this? If a journalist is WhatsApping with an MP, say, is it generally accepted that they would not want comments made in that context to be attributed?

I wouldn't pay a penny for it, but I admit that I stuck it on while doing the washing up yesterday. Probably not a sustainable business model...

If the Central Line programme is fully funded, what else explains all the delays? The reduced timetable was an emergency measure and was only supposed to be temporary.

This is, for me, where the Nazi/fascist parallels work best. β€˜Good’ people did nothing as the awfulness escalated because they were justifiably terrified of getting their heads kicked in or killed. It’s about comparing similar points in the process as opposed to comparing end days with early ones.

The strange thing about Walthamstow, having lived there, is that there is a very small area - basically one street, Orford Road - that is properly gentrified?

(Most yuppies I know have instead settled in nearby Leyton or Leytonstone)
