The book compiles 3 articles by Dagett, originally in English, but you can find this book in French and German.

I also did a full analysis of the Climate for change exhibition, and the last article by Bell, Dagett and Labuski was very interesting to look at.

I have used her work to analyze Oil Kid, the film at the beginning of the museum, that portrays automobility as well as petromasculine behaviors by the father and son. Her work was also very useful to interrogate extractivist patterns, and the general dimensions of gender and oil in the industry.

I have tried to have an intersectional and ecofeminist view, analysing the texts and images of different exhibitions.
Dagett's analysis of #petromasculinity as a behavior that reinforces white masculine domination and behaviors is really powerful.

I have been using a lot this book by Cara New Dagett for my thesis on #petroculture and narratives in the Norwegian Petroleum Museum in Stavanger. My aim was to show how petroculture informs us and reinforce bigger systems: patriarchy, capitalism and extractivism.

BILAN DU 10 SEPTEMBRE : CE N'EST PAS UN ÉCHEC MAIS ÇA N'A PAS MARCHÉ RETOUR SUR LES POINTS POSITIFS (ET NÉGATIFS) DE CE DÉBUT DU MOUVEMENT BLOQUONS TOUT

Le 10 septembre est derrière nous. Comme on I'a répété ces dernières semaines, cette journée n’était pas une fin en soi. Pas I'aboutissement de deux mois de préparation. Mais bien le début d'un mouvement qui doit encore se construire et trouver sa forme. Une mobilisation massive. Les renseignements prévoyaient 100 000 personnes dans la rue. Ils en redoutaient déjà les conséquences. Le résultat est tout autre : entre 400 000 et 500 000 personnes ont manifesté partout en France et en outre-mer. Un chiffre impressionnant, surtout pour une date appelée par des citoyens, un jour de semaine, à peine quelques jours âpres la rentrée. Cette mobilisation dit l'’exaspération d’une population au bord de la rupture, face a des décennies de politiques qui enrichissent toujours les mêmes et précarisent toujours plus les autres.

Un échec du coté des blocages. Tout L’été, les appels étaient clairs : le 10 septembre devait être une journée de blocage, pas seulement de manifestation. Routes, dépôts, centres logistiques... il fallait bloquer le pays pour forcer les dirigeants a entendre la colère. Pourtant, la majorité des citoyens a choisi de se tourner vers les rassemblements et manifestations. Résultat : la plupart des blocages ont tenu peu de temps et eu peu d’impact. Le paradoxe, c’est qu'à Paris, les rares vrais blocages de la journée sont venus des manifestations sauvages.

Il manquait une partie du peuple Une partie de la population en colère n'a pas répondu à I'appel. Beaucoup de celles et ceux qui avaient pu se mobiliser avec les Gilets Jaunes ont refusé de participer. Pourquoi ? Parce que le 10 septembre a été trop identifié comme une mobilisation de gauche. Or I'enjeu n'est pas de porter un parti ou une famille politique au pouvoir. Mais d'imposer un rapport de force entre ceux qui dominent et ceux qui sont exploités. Tant que ce malentendu persiste, des centaines de milliers de personnes resteront a distance.
