As a former theatre girlie, I was VERY concerned about this adaptation lol. They butchered the pacing of Defying Gravity, but on the whole, I was impressed! The costumes and wig work alone were worth a second watch.

I have soooooo much personal beef with SJM for her writing style and the general lack of editing in this series, but I will hand it to her: she knows how to create a larger plot structure. I liked this a LOT more than the first one.

This has definitely been one of the easiest so far for me to parse as someone with no formal background in the field. Mark Witton’s writing style manages to be so entertaining even with the density of information!
