I need to order grommets and lacing for the sides bu onto her knee brace thing next

Leggings
I started with a large piece of fabirc I essentially pintucked by machine to start then realized using my serger was both faster and cut down on bulk.
After cutting out the pieces, I airbrushed the shadows with Dye-na-flow so everything remained soft then sewed the leggings as usual

but with the combined effort of me and my Erik (Lutavia--of course) we called several stores across the country and now I am the owner of two beautiful hides for my costume

I literally just had google maps open and was calling each store in a region

Random storytime for this project: For the embossing on the jacket I thought about embossing it myself but decided against it. Went to my local Tandy, saw the Catrina in Red but didn't buy it so I could think on it.

Draculesti Kickstarter campaign header: it's at 90% and now has 10 days to go

Since we were on the knife edge between making it or not, Kickstarter have extended our campaign by a week to help us hit 100%!

Thanks for all your support so far. With that little bit of extra time, and a little bit of extra effort, we can make it!

Made that progress. I decided it will be easier to sculpt the details on the hilt and handle by hand instead so plain versions are going on the printer
Honestly theres a lot of variations of the sword from the different art books but I picked the one on the cover of the TokyoPop printing

The slinger is going smoother
but still a pain in the butt

Tomorrow I'll draft the jacket since I felt like doing some modeling today (aka listen to a podcast while getting made at Fusion)
Hopefully the slinger goes a lot smoother

-Leggings: newly drafted
-Romper: Trouser block and princess seam bodice
-Shirt: Waist dart bodice adapted to be off shoulder
-Under jacket: Armscye dart bodice flared out

The two parts that I'm most pleased with my Dawntrail Krile cosplay:
1) The hood: from the side & the front, the shape is exactly what I wanted to accomplish
2) The sleeves: oversized is cuter yes??

\o/ Def gonna be a blast

TPU is the common flexible material people are using. I've seen it recommended to use Smooth on Urecoat or plastidip for finishing and smoothing.
Another alternative would be to cast it in Urethane rubber and if you don't care about surface texture I think you could even 3D print a mold for that

If the universe is going to let me get away with spending $40 on a fashion lace front vs $60-80 a cosplay wig company is gonna charge I will do it

I am forever going to be tickled that my Alicia wig and the base wig for my friend's Verso are the same base (in different colorways)

Every time I look through my Krile photos I ☺️ because yellow is my favorite color. Her jacket may have been a funky pattern but it turned out so cute!

Test of the jewel before I glued the topper on anddddd here's the current process.

She still needs her bow and all the nasty weathering that's iconic for the start of her journey

Still haven't made much progress on the sword model but SOON!

Then we had the long process of crimping, teasing, then curling my wig from Coscraft for Youko's beautiful wavy curls.

I have no idea why but I adored the descriptions of her hair when I first read the book

I didn't realize how little of this project I talked about. Whoops

Skirt was the usual pleated skirt using math. I added a bit of fusible interfacing to the bottom to keep the pleats crisp

I used the NDLWRKshop pattern for the top so I didn't have to draft things.

I have never felt so validated to start my project when I did

I thought it was gonna be at least a few more months

I'm getting to the end of my interfacing bolt I bought year ago
I just thought today "What if I get another......an a heavier weight as well"

I loved her journey!! So happy the series is getting picked up again

First up I modeled a topper for Hekisoujo--the jewel on her sheathe
For the blue sphere portion I purchased an acrylic juggling ball online. Much cheaper and easier than casting my own gem.
Then I started on Suiguutou--her sword. I'm still a beginner so its a slow going process
