As a fellow Virginian (Manassas area), Spanberger's win on Tuesday was much deserved, especially in the face of WES' budding MAGA surrogacy, but the real "hopium" was in Zohran's win in NYC, no candidate deserves that success more than him. Things are starting to look up in certain places.

I've always loved this anecdote from Mira Nair, filmmaker and mother of Zohran Mamdani, about pitching a studio exec on MISSISSIPPI MASALA (1991) and being told he'd only fund it if it had more white people

"I said, 'Well, all the waiters in this film will be white. Of that, I can promise you.'"

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said “we should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.
