A final rule is set to take effect on July 15, 2025, that removes accessibility requirements for new federal buildings. The rule will happen unless "significat adverse" comments are received.

The Redbook Index, a sales-weighted of year-over-year same-store growth in a sample of large US general merchandise retailers representing about 9,000 stores. The screenshot shows a reading of 5.8% down from 6.9%

It would seem that data that measures same-store sales is also showing a weakening US consumer and a slowdown in retail sales.

Real Earnings measures wages, salaries, and other earnings, corrected for inflation over time so as to produce a measure of actual changes in purchasing power. A screenshot showing the US Real Earnings, month-over-month declined by 0.7% to go negative for April.

While inflation edged down to 2.3%, the lowest since 2021, worker's purchasing power dropped to -0.1%. Low inflation and a drop in real purchasing power isn't good news for the economy.

Based on this, I think it's safe to say that the data doesn't accurately reflect the average consumer's economic pain. For that, you need to look at what the credit card companies are writing down in losses.
