Coming back to work after a summer holiday isn’t so hard when you really believe in whatever mission $work is trying to achieve.

Isn't all money dirty,if you dig back far enough? :)

Clearly, we all draw different lines in the sand, but the very concept of "clean money" is - at best - strange to me

I am otherwise happy that Radicle is transparent about its source of funding, as any public-good, open source project should be

Well... @radicle.xyz is, but probably not the way you expect. :)

My #JCrete25 takeaways:

1. Not enough people know about @radicle.xyz yet - need to start submitting proposals to conferences / meetups,
2. Entry-level devs are going to have a **HARD** time in next few years: GenAI tools help experts, not amateurs. 👈 great excuse for execs to avoid hiring

:(

Were you at least able to report it ? I had that happen to me in #HER with #Aegean and they replaced the suitcase for me. (Broken wheel)

I just had to go back to the airport to pick the new one up after a week or so…

Maybe now’s a good time to try out @radicle.xyz ?

Escape the #github #enshittification and #freeYourCode !

#OpenSourceSoftware is too important to be controlled by any single vendor.

Last week I’ve been at JCrete, an unconference. ☀️🌊 It’s completely different from a conference, but at least as insightful (and fun!).

I’ve met amazing people, had interesting conversations and enjoyed the Cretan hospitality. ❤️ For an impression, watch the aftermovie!

It really makes me wonder if ‪@fairphone.com have actual human agents replying to my support ticket or some crappy AI software that is wasting my time.

I have been a returning customer for 4 years now, but I am not at all sure I want to stay a customer if this is the level of customer service now..

In a conference, conventions like bracelets can be clearly communicated. There are (hopefully) code of conducts and announcements by the organisers around such norms. (I really like the bracelet system!)

I don't think the same applies for something like a top-level domain. That's all I'm saying. ;)

I get your point (even though the analogy doesn't quite work for me). :)

I hope people who care about a decentralised, #peer2peer solution to #GitHub and other forges can look past the .xyz top-level domain and at least take a look at the cover itself before judging if what's inside is worthwhile.

Why does every damn website feel the need to import from 30 different CDNs and spray my information all over the world?

Self-host your assets, folks!! It's just as fast, more reliable and more private.

Didn't really have that Top Level Domain down as suspicious in my book, but after your message I thought I'd take a look.

It does seem like there are some issues [1] with it.

Isn't it a little too much to discount an entire TLD though? : )
