An apartment complex. A headline reads: "Did Switzerland Solve The Housing Crisis?"

The way that housing co-ops work in Switzerland may seem foreign to many. But the central idea is simple: What if homeownership had no profit motive and no capital gains? Advocates say their model could reshape how the world thinks about affordable housing. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/26/r...

Thank you so much to everyone who has got onboard The Big Summer Holiday #PostcardDrop2025! It’s wonderful to know postcards still matter. Also intrigued by the special location frank-marks and the need for an additional “envelope” in some cases. Total so far = 294! ☺️💌🎉

Perhaps, yet I think he is articulating something important. We also grow through seeing and learning what is happening around us, even if it isn't our particular habit? Many things can be true at the same time. :-)

Many things can be true at the same time. It's great you search out new music! I think we all need music in our lives and need to value it much more.

The streaming model doesn't pay musicians well in any way.The rate is utterly deplorable. Only a handful of superstars are able to get a good rate of pay and further market share. We are killing the prospect of an okay or decent living of many musicians. Royalties were always part of that. Not now.

Radio stations paid a much better royalty rate than the current day model of streaming services ,though radio became more formatted, there still were some DJs, as you write, that curated their own shows. Streaming, and now A,I is having a very detrimental effect on livelihoods of many musicians.

40 Years After Live Aid, It’s Still Personal for Bob Geldof

"Now, music is free and you get the news that you want to see. The web is an echo chamber of your own prejudices, so you only hear the music that it thinks you like. It’s a silo of the self. So I don’t think music can survive being the spine of the culture as it was"

European Spa Company Therme Misrepresented Itself in an Effort to Expand Into Canada A Times investigation shows Therme, a European firm, exaggerated its track record in securing a deal with Ontario, and government auditors found that the process had been unfair and opaque.

Unbelievable. The @nytimes.com reports that Therme was misrepresenting basic aspects of its business - they copied the name of another company and claimed to own its properties.

Indeed. It seems that is the unfortunate and too common rationale of why an older landmark historical building needs to go.
