Out of curiosity, if your vehicle is damaged by community protectors because you were attempting to sell people to the government, would insurance cover those costs? I know you have to get different coverage if you’re a delivery driver but what about bounty hunter?

I get the sense many leaders and governments around the world have become too detached, too isolated from the lives of the people they’re supposed to represent.

Greed, ego, and privilege have put the wrong people in charge and the rest of the world pays for the damages in blood.

I’m curious what it’s going to take before other countries finally put us as a Level 3 or 4 travel advisory and offer assistance for expedited return of their citizens. Especially countries critical of our government.

It feels like the bystander effect; everyone is waiting for someone else to act.

I need to believe this move by Microsoft was not voluntary. I can’t reconcile their direction over the last decade with this move. Between corporate risk aversion and public perception it makes no sense to platform Musk and host Grok. There has to be more going on. #build2025 #azure

Microsoft’s dedication to 100% renewable energy, closed loop cooling, pursuing more energy efficient processing, and focus on safe and responsible AI seems antithetical to platforming Grok and giving Musk keynote representation. This has to be under duress/extortion threat, right? #build2025 #azure

A lot of mixed feelings on #msbuild2025. Incredible new tools for enterprise development and I can’t recall ever being so excited about a single SQL Server release as I am for 2025 all overshadowed by the layoffs, bringing in Grok, and giving “special access” to AI tools supporting genocide.

You managed to 1) shrink the issue to a specific instance, 2) dismiss it by excusing others for a “mistake”, and 3) justify the actions harming a real person because IF a series of hypotheticals were true then maybe someone might have lost their job, all while pretending to be a voice of “reason”. 👎

Queens Night Market, Queens Zoo and Flushing Meadows Park south of the stadium is also nice. Lots of space, very walkable from subway, lots to see. Food options are sparse though but if you’re there when the night market is open that’s a lot of fun.

I remember going out after a conference over there and eating at an amazing place that was either Chama Mama or it isn’t there anymore then walking past the brownstones to the promenade to take in the city view. It was awesome.

I’m partial to DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights Promenade at sunset going into night. The transformation of the city skyline from browns and oranges to glimmering lights is pleasing. Also tons of great food between those and subway with outdoor seating. Evening breeze on a warm night. 🥰

Chapter 5 of “A People’s History of the United States: 1492 - Present” by Howard Zinn seems very relevant to what’s happening right now.

How can people learn of the past when it is so openly rewritten? How do we avoid repeat events we don’t talk about? It takes only a few decades before controversial change becomes believed as the way things have always been.

Before this I was neutral to slightly negative about wrestling purely because of SyFy channel programming choices a long time ago.

After watching this I am ready to give wrestling a fair shot. That’s how good this was! The players took to the storytelling so fast and worked well together. Huge fan.

If you had pitched the season to me I would have been like “meh, I’m still mad SciFi/SyFy replaced content with wrestling” and I would have missed out on an absolutely fantastic season.

I completely lost it at remembering they brought the massage guy with them and also that sand portal they opened.

My parents were big into this fandom when I was growing up but it never really clicked for me. The lore gets reconned so often I can’t keep up and the community can get super toxic if you aren’t in lock step with them.

But obviously lich.

I’d be grateful for some pointers if there is anyone (local or not) who could point me in the direction of position titles I should be looking for or any search terms that would make sense to start down this hyperfixation rabbit hole. Maybe there are already groups who do this I could be looking at?

This is partially related to the special election proposing tax increases to pay for road upgrades (why was the existing funding insufficient? Did budget get reallocated? Revenues drop?) but also vehicle registration. In no world does it make sense to charge $1k/year to register a non-luxury vehicle

I’ve recently become very interested in understanding Washington State and Tacoma tax policies, revenue generated, who are the people in charge of this area, and whether those people are being blocked or limited by others from doing their work effectively.

Problem: I don’t even know where to start.

This makes me miss living in a very flat, open space. Going about your day and suddenly you smell it. The air is wetter and there’s a slight breeze. You notice the birds have gotten quieter. You look out across the fields and watch as a curtain of rain lazily approaches. There’s an excitement to it.

I don’t know what I expected. I thought maybe I’d forgotten something from that episode. It earned an entry for appearing on screen briefly. Amazing. 7/9 no notes.

Coworker accidentally said “lake of context” rather than “lack” and it hit me as an excellent way to think of ADHD storytelling. When sharing information we can go off on tangents, stop to back up and give more background before continuing, etc.

It’s so disappointing. At least if they had direction on leading the content a specific way it’d make sense, still bad but at least with a purpose other than general discontent.
