One of the largest North American birds, the American White Pelican is majestic in the air. The birds soar with incredible steadiness on broad, white-and-black wings. Their large heads and huge, heavy bills give them a prehistoric look. On the water they dip their pouched bills to scoop up fish, or tip-up like an oversized dabbling duck. Sometimes, groups of pelicans work together to herd fish into the shallows for easy feeding. Look for these elegant birds on inland lakes in summer and near coastlines in winter.

Sandhill cranes forage from morning till dusk. The colts need much protein to grow as fast as they do. 🪶 #birds

A beautiful yellow and green mushroom bends out of the ground. Its stipe is all yellow, shiny and very smooth. Its cap is a gorgeous light green on the right and darker green on the left. Streaks of reflections of the sky and trees above make this mushroom appear like glass. Bits of for needles and moss are blurred behind and around the mushrooms base.

Switching geographical regions, this parrot mushroom looks more "classic" to me and was found in the Olympia, Washington area
