In grade school because I was verbally abused and bullied by a teacher- i had her for every single class that year. There was no way for me to get away from her during school. I was suicidal. This would have made a huge difference to the amount of trauma i carried for years.

With things being what they are, there's something very poetic about the cup of christ being next to a bunch of decor crap and broken kitchen gadgets.

I have worked my ass off since college. I have gotten raises and better jobs- but the cost of living has gone up so sharply that my situation has barely changed. I'm still living paycheck to paycheck. Thank God we were able to move back to Illinois where it's cheaper or we be homeless.

i used to fantasize about going back to my child self and telling her that it's going to get better and be okay. Now I just want to go back and tell her to scoot over so I can pretend this all doesn't happen. It'll get better eventually but that will extend past the lifetime of the people I love.
