Y’all can complain all you want about sports announcers and their clichés, but understand this: we’re ABSOLUTELY doing it on purpose. 😈

Sometimes, it’s a game to see who can conjure up the most ridiculous cliché.

When announcing roller derby, I usually refer to the crowd as "ladies and gentlemen, gays and theys" to be inclusive, but at today's bouts, I switched it up and used "everypony" instead and chat, let me tell you—nopony enjoyed that.

A question for the jet-setting punx: can I pack spikes in a carryon?

Thin Mint, dressed as Vocaloid Hatsune Miku, smiles at the camera in a selfie taken indoors. They are wearing a grey cap that reads “STRONG ATHLETIC QUEER,” a teal wig, blue-framed glasses, and a teal necktie over a collared shirt labeled “Vocaloid.” They have a denim vest with various pins and pride flag patches, and a visible tattoo on their upper arm. They are holding a black microphone wrapped in green tape, and the background includes a floral-patterned chair and a concrete floor.

This image shows a large, joyful group of roller derby skaters and supporters gathered together for a group photo at an indoor track. Everyone is wearing helmets and protective gear, with many sporting vibrant, colorful outfits and face paint, celebrating individuality and team spirit. There’s a wide range of expressions—smiles, laughter, and a general air of camaraderie.

The skaters are posed in a cluster, with some kneeling or crouching in the front and others standing in the back. The background includes a wall with banners, including one for Willamette Valley Vineyards and another that seems to show derby action shots.
