I'm also thinking about how divisive Fusion was. It felt like such a departure from the formula at the time. Dialogue?? Linear level design?? In a Metroid game?!

Now with time having passed, I can objectively see how profoundly good of a game it is and how well it mastered the Metroid atmosphere.

To follow this; as much as I truly adore Metroid Dread, it has the weakest music accompaniment in the series.
They went for a more ambient and atmospheric feel with harmonics teased throughout.
-which really brought the world to life! It's good! But compared to the punchy iconic anthems of Fusion...

Been thinking a lot lately about Metroid Fusion and how incredible the music. Almost every track was original and unique, and did such an incredible job of capturing its moment. Ahh! 💜
I think I need to replay it soon.
