February 1 in Hamilton- the harbour is frozen with a few brave ice fishers way out there.. and folks ice skating at Princess Point - lots of hikers, people on bikes… and the bluest of blue winter sky overhead.

Just announced- #hamont public schools are closed tomorrow!

Hamilton, Ontario under a blanket of snow. This is looking downtown and toward Strathcona Neighborhood -Queen street doesn’t look too bad (although I’m not driving on it 😬) #Hamont. And.. the Bay is mostly frozen over, I could see a tent on ice in Cootes area.

Love this station.. I visit during Salmon run season.. but haven’t seen it frozen like that.

Hang in there. Had this in December and knocked me out for a few weeks. :(

I also realized I spend too much on “accounts” so we discussed which to cancel or rotate. Saved $100! It may just be my personality-that tracking goals helps me- but I’ve been able to save a lot more this way and still be happy (most of the time)

I’m not saying this works fo everyone. But when you track it, it does impact choices. For instances, we noticed electricity bill was $35 higher last month and so we stopped doing laundry, or putting dishwasher on until after 7pm (prices are half then).

This includes the quick coffee after work, gas in car, lunch at market, Friday night beer. Tracking changed my life and choices. I also moved to a smaller home (with my kids) so we can live on LESS than our means and so I can afford to travel and pay fo their schooling.

Someone asks me how I afford to travel and pay for kids education (I’m a teacher). I track/ budget my money -down to the cent. I have a spreadsheet. Every bill/purchase is documented so when I reach the assigned limit -I don’t buy it or alter spending .

He looked under 70. I’m in awe of him. He said,comes down to eating healthy-no processed food,mostly veg, only drink water & daily exercise.He looked so happy.Lives with his wife (who is 80).Been thinking of this all day.
